Effective 2026-05-07

RepRecap is built so coaches can record practice without the usual concern about where the video goes. The app has no network access, collects no analytics, and never uploads video. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do.

Data we collect

None of your data leaves the device. RepRecap does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information.

  • No accounts. The app has no sign-up, no login, no profile.
  • No analytics or telemetry. The app contains no third-party analytics SDK and reports no usage data.
  • No advertising. No ad networks, no tracking pixels, no identifiers shared with anyone.
  • No network access. The app is built without network entitlements; it cannot make outbound connections, even if asked.

Device permissions

Camera
Required. Used only to capture video on the device for the delayed-replay feature. Recordings are stored in the app's private storage.
Microphone
Not requested. The app does not record audio.
Photos library
Required. RepRecap stores recorded clips directly in the device's Photos library — Photos is the app's storage, not just an export target. To make this work, the app requests full read-and-write access to the photo library on first save. The app uses that access specifically to:
  • Create one Photos album per team (named "RepRecap — <Team Name>") and add the clips, reels, and recordings the app produces to that album.
  • Read back the assets the app itself created so they appear in the in-app library for review, tagging, and reel-building.
  • Rename, reorganize, or delete only those app-created albums and assets — for example, when you rename a team or delete a clip from inside the app.
The app does not browse, scan, copy, search, or transmit photos or videos that RepRecap did not itself create. The full read-and-write scope is needed because iOS does not offer a "manage your own assets only" permission level; the app voluntarily limits its reads and writes to its own albums and assets.

iCloud Photos. If you have iCloud Photos enabled on your device, your clips will sync to your own iCloud account (and to your other Apple devices) the same way every other photo and video does. That sync is performed by iOS, not by RepRecap, and uses your own iCloud storage. The app has no access to that iCloud account.

Limited Photos access is not supported. Because clips live in Photos, "Limited Library" mode would prevent the app from finding its own albums. The app will prompt you to grant full access if Limited is selected.

You can revoke this permission at any time in Settings → Photos → RepRecap. If you revoke it, the app cannot record new clips or load the in-app library, but the clips already in your Photos library remain there and are yours to keep.
Local network / Bluetooth / Location
Not requested.

Where video is stored

Video lives in the device's Photos library, inside the per-team "RepRecap — <Team Name>" albums the app creates. This is intentional: it means your clips are backed up by your own iCloud Photos (if enabled), visible in the Photos app, and yours to keep — even if you delete RepRecap.

Team rosters, player tags, reel definitions, and other metadata live in the app's sandboxed storage on the device, keyed to the corresponding Photos asset identifiers. If you delete the app, the metadata is removed but the clips and albums remain in your Photos library.

RepRecap itself does not upload your content anywhere. The app has no network entitlements and is incapable of making outbound connections. Any backup or cross-device syncing happens through your own iCloud Photos account, handled by iOS.

Children's privacy

RepRecap is intended for use by coaches. Athletes appearing in recordings are often minors, but the app does not collect any personal information from anyone — including minors — and does not allow accounts or profiles. Responsibility for obtaining appropriate consent before recording athletes rests with the coach using the app.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
