I exported a clip but can't find it

Every clip you save — and every reel you build — is written straight into the iPad's built-in Photos app, in your team's RepRecap — <Team Name> album. RepRecap's in-app Library isn't a separate folder of files; it points to those same Photos videos. So a "missing" clip is really a question of where in Photos to look, or whether Photos access is turned on.

Where to look

  1. Open the Photos app on the iPad.
  2. Under Albums, open the RepRecap — <Team Name> album — that's where RepRecap files your clips and reels. (They also show up in Recents / All Photos, like any other new video.)
  3. Scroll to the most recent items. The clip or reel should be there, with a small video icon in the corner.

If you have iCloud Photos turned on, the clip will also sync to any other devices using your iCloud account (your iPhone, your Mac, etc.).

I exported but Photos shows nothing

The most common cause: RepRecap didn't have permission to add to your Photos library. To check:

  1. Open Settings → RepRecap → Photos.
  2. Make sure it's set to Full Access. (RepRecap requires full Photos access — Limited or Add Photos Only is not enough.)
  3. Try the export again from RepRecap.

If it's set to None, the export silently fails (or shows an error you may have missed). Switch the setting and try again.

Does sharing a clip delete it?

No. Sharing (Messages, AirDrop, Mail, etc.) sends a copy to wherever you picked — the clip itself stays put in the team album and in the RepRecap Library.

Deleting is a separate, deliberate action. Note that deleting a clip from the RepRecap Library also removes it from the Photos album — it moves to Photos' Recently Deleted, where you have 30 days to recover it. See "Storage full" warning for freeing up space safely.

I shared via the share sheet (Messages, AirDrop, etc.) — where's the file?

Share-sheet exports don't go to Photos. They go directly into whatever app you picked:

  • Messages — attached to a message in the conversation you sent it to.
  • AirDrop — appears on the receiving device's Photos app (iPhone/iPad) or Downloads folder (Mac).
  • Mail — attached to the email draft.
  • Google Drive / Dropbox / Files — uploaded to that app's storage.

Your saved clips are already in Photos (in the team album), so there's no separate "save to Photos" step — share straight from RepRecap or from the Photos album whenever you like.

What if I deleted from Photos and now need it back?

Photos has its own Recently Deleted album, which holds deleted items for 30 days:

  1. Open Photos.
  2. Tap Albums at the bottom.
  3. Scroll down to Recently Deleted.
  4. Find the clip, tap it, tap Recover.

If it's been more than 30 days, the Photos copy is gone — but if you didn't also delete the original in RepRecap, the clip is still there. Re-export it.
